Design / Build
Our first meeting is a learning session for both of us. We are looking for ideas and concepts that you have along with concerns and problems you may be having in your yard. We want to know your vision for your landscape, your likes and dislikes so we can start the process of the design/project for your new yard.
Hardscapes
Hardscapes come with two categories: segmented (manufactured) stone and natural stone. Segemented stone is known as: Keystone, Borgert, London stone, Interlock along with others. Segmented stone is typically less expensive when compared to natural stone and can usually be installed quicker depending on the design. The irregular shapes and colors of natural stone that is accented with plantings can be worth the extra cost if your home setting calls for it. A mixture of both natural stone and segmented stone will also work nicely.
Plantings
Plants comes in different categories such as annual and perennial flowers, shrubs, ornamental trees, evergreens and shade trees. Perennials tend to be more demanding of your time so if you are not the gardening type maybe keep these plants to a minimum. There are some perennial varieites that are less demanding of time and still offer a great leaf color and flower. We can help guide you in this process. Hardy roses, like Carpet Roses can be a great color option if you are looking for a perenial look in shrub form. If you are looking for Evergreens there are some nice Arborvitaes that stay very compact both upright and in a global shape. The goal with plantings is to have some color interest throughout all seasons.
Irrigation
Irrigation is a great option to consider when you are landscaping. There is usually very little damage to an existing lawn when installed and your plants and lawn will look much healthier throughout the growing season.
Rain Gardens
Rain gardens are a great addition to most landscapes. We start with a good drainage plan, then we amend the soil in a holding pond to accept the water run off and install your favorite rain garden plants. Contact us for more information.
